     I have always enjoyed working with colored pencils, as they are the melding of drawing (one of my favorite means of expression) and painting. Their use as a "serious" creative medium has grown over the last 40 years and are now widely accepted as a fine art material. They are readily available in art supply stores and like most other art materials, colored pencils come in a broad range of low to high quality sets. There are hundreds of fine artisans who use only colored pencils to "paint" with, though the discussion is still open as to placing colored pencil artworks into drawing or painting categories.   as they are the melding of drawing and
